The Role
You can approach almost anyone in the office with questions, so the support network goes beyond your manager.
I was given work on the very first day and there has been a constant stream from a variety of colleagues since.
The most valuable skills gained are workplace skills. I wouldn't say the internship will help me with my degree but it will definitely help with my future career.
The Company
You would be surprised how relaxed the office is, given the importance of the work we do!
The interns in my office were given training sessions in the first week which were invaluable. Everyone in the office is willing to commit time to explaining things.
Company Parties/Events
From what I have been told, interns are successful more often than not at getting a job.
The Culture
It can be difficult when all the interns travel from different locations.
Manchester can be expensive but there are loads of options in terms of expense.
One of the highlights was the celebration drinks the day after the actuarial results. The office decided it was a good idea to organise the "Intern Olympics"!
