The Role
I would have preferred some more exciting work to do but it has been quite varied and interesting in parts. The people and the socials have been great.
On the whole I haven't been given very important work to do, but that is understandable given my level of experience. On certain tasks though I have felt valued and integral to the project.
I have received good support from my supervisor. I would have liked to have been given more direction and guidance. It wasn't always clear what I was meant to be doing.
Always had work to be getting on with but was never too busy.
I have been given work on some important projects, but never with much responsibility.
I have gained a lot of valuable skills that I will use both in further studies and in later work. I've learnt very technical skills using Excel and other professional programs. I have also developed business awareness and knowledge.
The Company
It hasn't been very busy in the office because a lot of people are working on secondment in other offices or are on holiday. For most of the day the office is very quiet with people keeping their heads down to work, some even with headphones in. The people have been very friendly and easy to approach, however, and outside of the office everyone is very sociable and likes to have fun.
There has been a lack of organisation at times, with no definite plan of what it was I was supposed to be doing.
The company invested very highly in training and development. I have been on 2 full length training days and have had regular training sessions with various people from the office. These included overviews of the industry and the company, as well as technical software training.

Having done the internship I am very keen to work for the company and value everything they have invested in me already.
The Culture
Whenever the interns from all the other offices have met up, at training days for example, we have always gone for a drink afterwards. It has been very sociable.
It wasn't cheap but that is to be expected in London. The company subsidised my travel which made it more affordable. Overall I think it has been very reasonable.
It was in Central London so there was every kind of nightlife imaginable! We mostly went to pubs and bars and they were all good.
There were five-a-side football games every week, darts competitions and plenty of socials and after-work drinks. There was also a paid volunteering day held by the company where I got to help out at a children's home painting and gardening.
