The Role
I really enjoyed the whole scheme but there were some times where I didnt have much to do so I workshadowed other graduates.
Everybody in the office is amazingly supportive which includes the partner who even though busy will answer questions and help when asked.
Everybody was willing to give guidence and support with any queries I had and explained things clearly before I was allocated a task.
There are periods of quiet time as I didnt have the correct level of knowledge to work though computations alone but there were other
I was given a similar level of responsibility as other graduates when it came to drafting letters/emails and phoning HMRC with queries.
I learnt a lot about the general office environment and lifestyle as well as communicating with different levels of employees and asking for help. I think the core skills such as teamwork have been used in a different context alongside more technical knowledge.
The Company
The office atmosphere was great when the graduates were not at college. With fewer people in the office it was still fun but a bit quieter. But definately I enjoyed the atmosphere the most of all.
I cannot explain how well the internship was structured. They have thought of everything from the buddy system to expenses and socials. A*
I would say it was more about the other employees who invested their time in talking me through their jobs and trying to help my understanding of their roles and the general workings of the firm.
Company Parties/Events
I am currently waiting for a final interview in the London Office
The Culture
Although only a small office the employees are very close knit and it was great to work in that environment where everybody knows each other. Again due to the size of the office there was only one other placement student who I spent a lot of time with which was great.
It was the same as university as I lived in my student accomodation.
The nightlife in Nottingham is normally great but without many students it is a different atomsphere but there were good opportunities to go out with the office.
There were a few social events organised by the office.
