The Role
I was given a real variety of challenging tasks as well as exposure to many parts of the business. The level of support given was excellent, as I was never short of people to answer any questions I had. This helped me make a really informed choice when deciding on my future career.
Despite my lack of experience, I was still given many pieces of work to complete. The work was always really explained and I was assisted with any issues I had.
For each half of my placement I had a buddy, who both really took time to get to know me and tried to get me involved in as many different things as possible. Also I had a champion for each service line, who kept up to date with how I was getting on and made sure I was being the right amount of work etc. The office also had a HR contact who looked after use throughout.
Overall, the level of work was very good. Managers made sure they knew what you were doing and how much you had to do. Some days were busier than others which was just to be expected.
The work I was given was real client work which had quite a lot of responsibility attached. Although all my work was reviewed to ensure what I'd done was correct.
It gave me a huge insight into the business world. As well as developing skills like time management and communication.
The Company
There was always lots going on in and out of the office. From getting to go on an away afternoon to playing on the tax netball team. As well as the odd drink after work of course!
I was kept informed of details regarding by placement from the time I got my offer. The structure of the placement was set up to give us as much exposure to different aspects of the firm as possible.
All the interns spent the 3 days of our first day residential national training, followed by 2 days for local office inductions.
