The Role
I enjoyed my internship with PwC a lot. It surpassed my expectation and I fit into the firm fairly easily.
i felt very valued by my colleagues. As I can do more of the administration tasks, this frees up time for them to perform other tasks. They were extremely helpful and coached me along as well as showed me how everything worked! By the end of my internship, some colleagues mistaken me for a AS2!
I was given a lot of guidance and they always set out the tasks clearly. And they emphasised asking plenty of questions which they readily answered. They explained a lot of the acrononyms and industry specific terms which made me understand what I was assigned to do.
I had a good balance of work and after-work events. We went for drinks with the team. And I frequently met up with the other interns in PwC for socials. On average, I left the office at 6. The latest I left the client site was at 7pm.
I was given quite a lot of responsibility. I was lucky that I had a great in-charge who entrusted me with work from Day 1. I was treated like a first-year associate. In my first two weeks, I helped planned and complete half of a quarterly review.
I have sharpened my project management skills. Juggling a few projects for a few managers is not an easy task especially when everyone has different schedules. Time management is also key to ensure that your work is completed on time! This will help me in my final year in university!
The Company
Amazing. I absolutely adore the office. I'm in the More London office which has such a vibrant environment. Everyone works hard but they still chat and catch up with people at their desks. Which is a great place to be at and show up everyday!
The whole internship was planned well as PwC has always been one of the best companies that recruit graduates. Emails were replied promptly, questions answered. Everyone knew what they were doing.
We had so much training in the space of 6 weeks! We had a week away which was amazing as well as a development day in the middle of the internship with sessions and fun enriching activities!
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
My exit interview is next week! But I think things should go well!
The Culture
It's great. everyone meets up at least one a week. especially when we have development/training days.
It is quite expensive living in London. as expected
the nightlife is great here. it is central London
I didn't really get to do much outside of work besides socialising and networking. Volunteering opportunities would be great!
