The Role
I found this placement very helpful for getting an insight into work in a commercial law setting. However, I felt tha atmosphere in the office was a little awkward.
People were always very thankful to me for the work that I helped them with however I did not feel that I was given any work that was particularly important.
It was always made very clear to me what my supervisors wanted from me and they were happy to answer all of the questions that I had about the work and life in the firm in general.
There were alot of peaks and troughs. At times I felt very busy and it was quite stressful however at other times my supervisors did not have anything to give me.
I did not feel that I was given any substantial or important work. However I suppose that this is to be expected seeing as I am lacking in experience in the area.
I think this has given me a good insight into the work of commercial solicitors and therefore is helpful in the formulating of my decisions as to which careers to pursue.
The Company
People were friendly and approachable however I felt a little awkward being in the office when I had no work to do.
Very well organised, everything ran to plan.
There were alot of presentations and workshops and we had contact with senior members of the firm.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
I would consider working here again.
The Culture
There was a large enough range of students to find someone of a similar mindset and the organised social events were fun.
Quite expensive but it is London after all!
Good but after a busy day in the office there werent many times when we felt like experiencing it.
There were organised social events as well as sports team and departmental events.
