The Role
Fantastic experience: excellent spread of work all very relevant to the work done by permanent associates; great work environment and team spirit; lots of enjoyable social events to get involved with outside of work
Work done by interns is certainly valued (especially by whoever would have had to do it otherwise)
No stones were ever left unturned and it was very easy to deal with any queries that arose
You are responsible for your own workload in the sense that it is up to you to accept and turn down offers to work on various projects based on your expected workload - in this sense, if you are reasonable in the way you manage your tasks, you can achieve an excellent balance
Work done by interns, while often impacting larger more important factors of bigger projects, is always extensively checked by senior colleagues, so the pressure of carrying the responsibility for a finished piece of work is to a certain extent lifted; however it is worth noting that it would take someone considerable time to correct a mistake done by an intern so in that sense, there is the responsibility to get it right
Being able to observe and work within a leading team of consultants proved invaluable in learning about what a more permanent position in the industry would entail, what skills to work on in the meantime and in general, how to act in a professional manner
The Company
Everyone is very sociable and eager to talk - very comfortable place to work and easy to fit in very quickly
Every imaginable detail was dealt with very well
Colleagues would spend consider time and effort explaining tasks ensuring that interns were able to absorb a lot of useful information
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Prospects for a graduate position seem to be very good for an intern who performs well
The Culture
Lots of social events attended by lots of people in the office
Living in London was generally quite expensive, but the permanent staff would buy interns drinks at social events
Lots of pubs, bars and restaurants close by
Lots of social events to get involved with
