The Role
There was rather a lot of downtime meaning that, even though I was continually looking for work, there were long periods of time when I had nothing to do.
I felt that my colleagues gave me work that they needed doing and were always appreciative and supportive when I handed it in to them and always provided me with feedback.
People were very supportive and made me feel comfoprtable to ask questions when I didn't understand and always provided feedback to help with my future development.
Variable, at times there was plenty to do and I enjoyed managing different pieces of work to meet deadlines however there were long periods of time where I had nothing to do and it was not through lack of effort in my part in trying to find work.
Due to the highly technical nature of the work there was little I could take great responsibility for, everything was always submitted for checking and so on but this was entirely appropriate given the nature of the work.
I have learned much about time and project management and it has increased my confidence to ask questions when I am unsure.
The Company
Everyone was really friendly and supportive and ready to answer any questions that you had and keen to organise social events.
There were centrally organised starter and closer events and introductory sessions and so on and during the placement people did try to find work for you but the limitations of the job and my knowledge hindered this at times.
The internship does involve immersion so you learn how office life works and start to get a really good grasp of what the company does, the type of training that will be expected in future and so on.

It is a good job and a secure one and gets you a versatile qualification as a chartered accountant.
The Culture
Pepole were keen to organise social events outside of office hours.
Fairly average really, I only had travel expenses as I lived at home, which were reasonable and Reading is as expensive as many other towns outside of London.
Again, fairly standard for a town and population the size of Reading.
People often organised events for the evening and there were CSR days and volunteering opportunities organised by the office.
