The Role
I was kept busy for the first half of my internship but work was very light in the second half. I did appreciate that my team didn't have a lot of work on themselves, but at times I felt like they could have done more to create/find work for me.
I couldn't of asked for more responsibility really, I was happy with the amount of chargeable work I completed over the six weeks.
I study mathematics so my time spent at EY was never going to be of any use to me when I return to university. But this isn't a problem, I wasn't seeking to improve in my studies whilst on my internship.
The Company
It was generally quite relaxed, people were chatting and having a laugh every now and again but not to the extent where it would hinder productivity, so overall a great working environment!
I thought Ernst & young had were extremely well organised for us interns, however I did feel my particular team could have done more in terms of preparing work for me to do whilst here.
At times I was actually quite shocked at how much the firm was investing in me considering I was only an intern i.e. putting us up in a nice hotel for our induction and then our leaving night.
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
This is my first real work experience but I honestly couldn't think of anything more I could ask for from an employer!
The Culture
I was constantly socialising with memebers of my team after work and I got together several times with the other interns at my office for meals & drinks after work. At times there was almost too much going on!
I found it a little expensive when going out, but then again I am a student!
It lived up to its reputation!
I did hear of a few but it wasn't something that interested me anyway.
