The Role
Wouldn't change anything, and I'm really looking forward to returning after uni.
From my first day on the job I was treated as a graduate.
Everyone was really supportive and friendly, whether in the office or out at client sites.
Depending on work some days were busier than others, but there was always work to be done, even if you were just helping out collegues around the office with odd jobs.
Loads! On my first day of audit I was speaking to the client alone to find out information to report back to the team. Everyone was so encouraging that it made it easy to feel confident in new situations.
I definitely gained communication, time management and confidence throughout the course of my internship. In particular there was an emphasis on presentation skills, as we attended the course at Bradenham and had to give our final presentation in the office. I was pretty nervous about the presentation at the start, but everyone is so welcoming which makes it a lot easier.
The Company
Everyone works hard but is always happy for a chat, or to answer any questions
Didn't receive a handbook before I started, so I wasn't sure what to expect for the first week. But everything was soon sorted.
They encouraged me to set personal objectives, discussed their business objectives for me with me, and paid for me to attend a presentation skills course at Bradenham.
Company Parties/Events
Have been offered a place on the grad scheme
The Culture
We all got on really well, and our fundraising project meant we kept in good contact even if we weren't in the office at the same time.
Commuted from home.
Never went on a night out during the internship, but Leeds has good nightlife
Fundraising, work football/netball, after work drinks
