The Role
Was the first introduction to investment banking and therefore it appeared to be very exciting.
Others are A Level girls who were really smart and nice. The duration of the insight was really short though, I didn't have the chance to keep in touch with some of them.
There was no specific mentor for the insight day but HR.
The two days were really packed with presentations, business games, talks and social sessions.
Insight only - so more to introduction to IB and give us a taste of what each division is like - we were all A Level students so wasn't even allowed to enter some floors due to confidentiality.
This is the event that helped me decide IB is the career for me and helped me direct the strengths toward a career here and beyond.
The Company
Serious. Culturally unique. Cool and fun. Goldman Sachs recruits talented and hardworking workers who were willing to work and live in the office - the whole organisation feels like an university.
Goldman HR is among the best organised HR - their events are well-timing, quality and professional. They did very good communication before and after the event.
Quality speakers - quality venue - quality facility - quality food and reimbursement. Can't ask for more.
Subsidised Canteen
Will apply to them again because of the interesting culture and work ethics, but still considering different roles - Goldman is a pure IB (not universal bank like HSBC, JP or Citi) so some of the roles might be missing.
The Culture
Social science in professional context - it feels like pure networking somehow a bit cold.
London is expensive, but Goldman pays for everything including hotels.
We were only A Level students at that time so wasnt allowed to go for night out i.e. have curfew time.
Goldman has a lot of societies for its employees - but not for insight students that Im aware of.
