The Role
A really great experience. The firm was friendly and there was lots of interesting work as well as social events.
My trainee buddy and supervisor were very helpful and I felt valued by those in the department with whom I had contact.
My supervisor did a fantastic job of making sure I felt welcome, finding me interesting work and making sure I understood what I had to do. The HR team were also very welcoming and friendly and went out of their way to assist.
I was mostly kept very busy in the department with a real range of work. Slightly quieter moments are inevitable but the ongoing project meant there was always something to be working on.
Despite not having any legal training, I was entrusted with research tasks, which were explained helpfully before I started on them.
The two-days of training were extremely useful at the beginning of the scheme and I imagine that skills learnt will greatly assist me with my legal training.
The Company
People were friendly, the open-door policy was very much in evidence and people always seemed to allow time to chat and explain tasks.
Having done other similar placements, I was very impressed with the way the scheme was run. Spending almost three weeks in a single department was especially useful.
I was impressed at the amount the firm invested in summer students.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
I was delighted to be offered a training contract!
The Culture
Those on the scheme got on well and enjoyed doing things together in the evenings.
London prices.
Didn't experience a great deal apart from bars in the area, which were great.
I was fortunate to be able to attend a Pro Bono clinic with my supervisor, which was very interesting.
