The Role
Just what I could have hoped for in terms of the responsibilities I was given and how much I learnt within a short amount of time
Was a key member of a team of 7. Felt valued equally as much (sometimes even more) as the rest of the team.
The support/supervision wasn't as structured as I would have thought, but I work well when given a lot of flexibility and was able to make the job my own.
Never bored, always busy, sometimes felt too busy, but on reflection I wouldn't have had it any other way.
A lot, quite scary to start with, but it helps you to have confidence in your own abilities.
The confidence, time management, efficiency, flexibility and job specific skills gained are not comparable to a year of studying. Very helpful
The Company
Sometimes quiet as my department had a culture allowing you to work from home/in different locations. But it always felt welcoming, friendly, relaxed.
I was in a new role- it could have been better structured, but for me it worked great.
Lots of opportunities for interns to take exams/go on courses
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Working from home
Healthcare from home
They are good (although competitive among interns), though I do not want to go down the corporate route so am not applying
The Culture
102 interns in the UK
Reading and sometimes London- expensive!
Reading- Am used to larger cities, so not great, but it's only a 25 min train to London
Yes- charity events, sports, societies
