The Role
Very enjoyable! Hard to adjust to working life at first (early mornings!) but has been good to do some genuine projects.
Every member of staff seemed willing to help.
Whenever I was stuck manager was easily accessible and always came to me regularly to see how I was getting on.
Fairly busy, some very busy times some not so! Had a lot of projects to get on with!
Enough Responsibility, had a few projects to work on!
Skills were different to my degree as I study physics and not engineering, but I did develop other skills such as time management.
The Company
Everyone seemed friendly and positive about the tasks at hand.
Was given work set for me as soon as I arrived and when that project was complete the next task was already ready.
Gave a lot of training first day such as security. Spent money to go on trips to further my learning about the company.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
If offered a job after placement I would take it! Seems a very well run company with a lot of work available.
The Culture
A lot of sports clubs were available and welcomed new members! Fellow placements would go to cinema on Wednesdays and regularly go out for a meal.
Stevenage is not to expensive considering its distance from London! Was expecting it to be far worse!
Stevenage is a quiet town, there are many bars available and bowling, cinema etc but no night clubs compared to large cities!
All sports and social clubs welcome new members and regularly post updates to keep you informed when training/events take place.
