The Role
Incredible experience, enjoyable and interesting work.
Everyone is friendly and welcoming.
A lot of self-motivated research and learning, but always someone on hand to ask questions.
The intensity of your work can vary from day to day, but on average is a good balance.
The work you do is meaningful and has a real impact on people decisions.
Invaluable skills for how to tackle problems and time management as well as confidence in working in teams and presenting.
The Company
Very relaxed environment to work in.
Undergraduates are treated almost identically to Graduates. For that reasoning, there is a large investment put into undergrads in terms of training (in the form of formal traing courses and informal knowledge transfer with more experienced engineers).
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Above 25 days holiday
The company has an excellent Graduate scheme with good opportunities for progression within the company.
The Culture
New starters to the company always become good friends. During my placement year I took part in sports teams, poker night, film nights etc.
Accommodation can be found fairly cheap if you look early. Taxi's are usually very expensive and beer is around £3 a pint.
Stevenage has a few clubs/bars, but it's not a huge nightlife scene. There are neighbouring towns (Hitchin) with more places to go and London is not far to travel. There are also plenty of pubs in the Old town in Stevenage.
To name a few; Poker, Cinema, Snowboarding, Drinking.
