The Role
I had a great time at the company, though the work internally needed more structure.
I was made to feel very valued, and a good member of the team.
My 'buddy' was very supportive, answering my constant questions.
Whilst I was often busy, it was through me finding work- as they had their financial year end in the first week I was there there was little structure to the work I was given, which my buddy said she would have planned had she been given advanced notice
I was invited to client meetings, the writing up of documents such as contracts and went on site visits to companies.
There was an extrememely valuable training course in presenting skills which will be very useful for presentations in future.
The Company
Very professional, but happy at the same time. Quite stressed at beginning due to financial year end.
All external events (of which there were quite a few) were extremely well organised. Internal work was a mixture-some very organised being shown how to use the companies software etc. and when getting linked in with a clients work which meant that you followed it through receiving work as you went. Some periods there was little to do except filing etc.
Main investment was a two day training in presentation skills at Bradenham Manor, which was very enjoyable. All interns nationwide took part in a corporate responsibility day giving a school a makeover.
Received a job offer.
The Culture
Not really, as the interns lived in quite different areas. Went for drinks with colleagues a few times though.
Lived at home, so cheap.
Living at home, didn't go out much.
Lots of emails about activities, most of which were for after the placement however.
