The Role
I was really impressed by the exposure to senior people that Fidelity has offered us during the internship programme. We had on average 2-3 lunch & learns with different teams from the business, which was an excellent way to get a deeper insight into the various departments and understand how experienced professional approach their day-to-day jobs.
Everyone seemed really helpful and was always open to listen if we got stuck with something. Our buddy were also of particular help, especially in the beginning to get up to speed with our projects.
Our manager spent at least 2-3 hours a week with each of the interns individually to help us improve our understanding of financial accounts, to highlight and pinpoint towards areas that deserve particular attention etc...
Considering that we were given our projects/stock pitches to work on during the internship, I was quite busy most of the day. However, the work was both extremely enjoyable and interesting...
Both analysts and portfolio managers showed a real interest in our projects and it certainly seemed that my project helped them build a view on a particular companies.
