The Role
Great mix of social events, talks and relevant and interesting work.
Inevitably there were times when they struggled to find work at the right level but what I did do they thanked me for.
My supervisors were great in giving me overall guidance but often it came after the work was finished- sometimes I felt it would have been useful to know the minor points, like formatting, before.
There were busy and not so busy days but generally felt I could manage all my deadlines.
Not huge amounts- the work I was doing was mainly background research stuff but thats to be expected at this level.
Ive definitely got a better knowledge of how City firms work and whats expected of a commercial solicitor.
The Company
Varied between departments. Generally everyone was friendly but didn't have enough time to meet everyone in the office properly.
Good transitions between seats and clear timetables were given at the start- maybe a couple more socials would have been nice as not knowing London made it hard for us to know where to go.
There were workshops and talks to develop our skills- very good.
Subsidised Canteen
Great firm with realistic chance of international secondments for all trainees.
The Culture
Everyone was really sociable. As above, not knowing london made it hard to meet up after work and go out but the organised socials were great.
Central london so pretty expensive but the salary helps cover stuff.
Good bars right outside the office.
A few but limited places so they went within seconds!
