The Role
Really enjoyable: made a lot of new friends and got the impression that the firm was trying to sell itself to me and not that I was just proving myself to the firm.
Extremely friendly and gave me positive feedback whenever performed well in a task. Everyone was more than willing to talk to me and never made me feel like I was an outsider.
Detailed instructions were given for every task and I felt comfortable when asking questions whenever I got stuck.
Some days were very busy and others were not. This depended on who and how many people were in the office.
I was given responsibility to do tax computations and compile research for client meetings.
I learnt a lot more about what corporate tax advisors do and how they play a major role in the wider economy. In addition, I learnt a lot about management from the managers themselves which will aid me in my postgraduate masters in management studies.
The Company
The atmosphere was relaxed but work-conducive at the same time. The partners and managers had a sense of humour and this kept morale up and ensured people never got bored of their work.
I was allowed to take part in a variety of different tasks and activities including training at the company's facility at Bradenham Manor. The only dissapointing thing was that I didn't ultimately get to shadow a partner which was one of my business objectives at the start.
The company gave us a taste of its training facilities at Bradenham Manor during which we learnt how to improve our presentation skills. I was also taught how to use tax software called Alphatax which will really come in handy if given a graduate job.

As far as I understand there is a job available for everyone, provided they perform to an adequate standard during their internship.
The Culture
Yes, i made a lot of friends during the internship with whom I will keep in contact with after.
The costs are quite high as London prices are generally expected to be.
I didn't really experience the nightlife but in London there is always a wide variety of things to do.
There were many events organized by the company such as networking evenings and the final farewell bar night.
