The Role
I enjoyed working for C&W very much, as I learned a lot and it was not always about work 24/7 as there were opportunities for all of the other inters to socials and get to know each other, such as playing softball in the park and going to the pub after. I also made friends who will be staying in contact with.
From day one everyone was very welcoming and friendly, it was as if I had always been apart of the team.
When I was set a task, they would first explain it to me and if I did not understand it at any point they were happy for me to ask questions.
There was always a balanced amount of work for me to do, so I was never bored or had to much which I could not cope with.
I was also given a fair amount of responsibility which I could cope with.
As I go of to Uni this year, I developed skills which I will learn at Uni and which will help me in my future career. Such as Yields, 3PL, etc.
The Company
There was a fair amount of work and good banter in the offices, overall a good atmosphere.
At the start somethings were not organised in the department I was working in, but it was not anything which would stop me from doing my work.
There was a introduction day explaining how the company works, health and safety, etc. But I feel they should have also walked us around the company so we know where everything. As well as, I feel they should have also spent an hour or so explaining how to use certain company software.

Future employment prospects are very high with a internship with C&W. If you do well on the internship, you can have a interview with the company to be offered a job starting this September or once you have finished your study's at Uni. For example, four on my friends who I made on the internship left with jobs starting this September.
The Culture
Everyone got along with everyone, it was a very welcoming environment.
As its the West end, things are not cheap as chips, but there are some places with a fair prices. It really depends were you go for example, at lunch time to could get a Tesco meal deal or go somewhere more up market which will cost you from £5+. It all comes down to how much you are willing to spend.
As I was located in the West end, there was endless things which people could do after work, such as myself and some of the other interns would go out to a bar, pub or even club on Fridays after work.
Although my department did not involve leaving your desk a lot, there was opportunities off all the other interns to get to know each other. Such as, fun team building methods, careers fairs (finding out more about the other departments), softball, etc.
