The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was hard work, but I was really made to feel a part of the team.
Everyone was very encouraging and helpful and it only took a couple of days within the firm until I had met everyone in my department.
The general support and guidance was good. Having not studied law previously, it was not always easy to understand instructions but people were generally very happy to answer questions.
I was extremely busy, with a number of difference things to balance on a day to day basis.
I was given a lot of responsibility. Lawyers took me along to important client meetings and much of the work was what 1st and 2nd year trainees do on a day to day basis.
The experience will stand me in very good stead when I begin my legal career. It really was a great insight into life as a trainee and certainly improved my time management and organisational skills, as well as my confidence to work in the environment.
The Company
I sat with extremely friendly and helpful people. I atmosphere was perfect in that I worked very hard but also had the chance to ask questions and learn some of the less obvious things about the firm.
A great deal of time and effort was clearly invested into the scheme. It was brilliantly organised and gave a balance between hard work, meeting others and having fun. I would highly recommend it.
The first couple of days were entirely devoted to inductions and training so that we were comfortable when the work began.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
It would be a fantastic place for anyone to work. Highly recommended.
The Culture
Very good. We made sure that we had a lot of lunches and evening socials together and everyone got on very well.
I have lived in London my whole life. Expensive but you get used to it!
There are some good pubs and bars nearby and we were in close proximity of Covent Garden and Leicester Square which are both buzzing.
There were some opportunities, although it's a difficult time of year as many people are on holiday and less sport/social activities taking place.
