The Role
I very much enjoyed my placement I was treated as a member of the team and given real responsibilities.
My colleagues never differentiated between interns and full time employees - I never felt like I was outside the group and I was involved with the day to day activities.
My supervisors were brilliant - Any problems I had were quickly sorted out and It was ensured that I always knew what I was supposed to be doing at a given time.
It was busy, fun and never boring
My work will be continued after I leave
I was not treated as a typical internal and given a pointless project. All interns had real projects that actually mattered to the company
The Company
Very comfortable, everyone was working hard and seemed happy.
Clearly allot of effort had gone into ensuring that each intern had a suitable and enjoyable project which was achievable in the time allotted and actually useful to the company.
I was invited to most relevant training sessions, Any skills needed which were not possessed were taught on the spot by colleagues.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
Not applicable to me as I have not yet graduated
The Culture
There was a social committee to ensure that everyone met and interacted which was very nice considering that I was in a new strange city in which I knew no one.
Cambridge can be a little expensive both for accommodation and eating out.
Being a university town Cambridge does have a quite good nightlife
The company arranged many social events and charity events outside of work hours both inside and outside of Cambridge.
