The Role
Good placement although work quiet at times, definitely get what you put in.
I felt extremely comfortable in that I was trusted and valued by my colleagues.
I was given support when required, how ever I was trusted to create my own future at the company.
I did have some quiet days, how ever I felt that most days were a good mix of work and time to reflect.
Towards the end of the placement I had more responsibility, how ever I wish this started earlier in the year.
Many great skills acquired throughout the placement, such as presentation skills and communicating with people of great importance in a company.
The Company
The office was pretty dull, I believe mostly to the fact that redundancies were being carried out and a lot of peoples futures were uncertain. My fellow students and I how ever kept each others morals up. :)
The placement was fairly well organised, how ever one of the main organisers/communicators for the placement was also a placement student, who at times was not great at doing the job.
I was given many oppertunities to train and went on 2 external courses during the year, one being ITIL v3 foundation which will be great for my CV.

I do not feel that a career in GSK is the correct one for me. The graduate scheme required you to move location every 9 months, which I will not be comfortable doing once leaving University.
The Culture
Due to being in one of the smaller offices with not so many students the social scene wasn't as good as it could have been. How ever I did meet some students on site, and had things to do most weeks/weekends with them.
Cost of living and socialising in the area was good as it is outside of London, how ever prices may still be a shock to northerners coming down south for the first time.
Night life was decent, there were many pubs in my town which I frequented often, and also a couple of bars/clubs only one train stop away.
Social and sports club right next to the offices meant that I had oppertuntiies to do pretty much any sport for a very reasonable price, for example canoeing and kayaking for 1 pound a session, football 5 a side for 1 pound, and tennis for 1.50 for a few hours.
