The Role
I have been within the John Lewis partnership for a while now but this was a different side to the business. I really enjoyed it but some bits were hard to grasp so it wasn't all plain sailing.
Everyone was so welcoming and friendly when I arrived. They continued to help and support me throughout my placement.
Really good support with regular meetings, which is difficult to make happen in a busy retail environment.
The limitation of time on my placement meant it wasn't feasible for me to learn some things which meant at some points I didn't feel busy.
Really good amount of responsibility given considering the time of the placement.
A fantastic insight into retail management and the skills needed to achieve this.
The Company
Fantastic
I felt like it was very professional and always felt like a proper member of staff.
Was involved in sensitive meetings and felt the firm invested trust in me.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
I have secured a place in the last day of the assessment centre to be on their graduate scheme next year.
The Culture
I was the only one on placement.
I commuted but it was average pricing.
Commuted to the area.
The social club is very good at John Lewis with numerous activities available to all sorts of people.
