The Role
The internship was great, went through proper project customer - developer interaction phase with requirements and functional specs, as well as technical design and implementation. The only negative was initial start of internship - took ages to get the accounts set-up and software licenses needed.
The team was perfect - very friendly and supportive.
Any questions / issues were welcome, initial guidance could have been better but was excellent considering how busy the senior management is. There was always someone I could go to for answers.
The initial start of placement let them down - I was struggling to find work, which in the end resulted in me spending more time working on the project since I had practically lost the initial two weeks to HR training and bureaucracy.
Complete control of the modifications I was working on, my ideas and technical solutions were well received.
Very good experience of software development with most lifecycle phases encountered. Excellent considering the short time frame.
The Company
Good fun with colleagues around me.
HR did an excellent job.
Quite general training and senior management talks which were fun but I assume more useful for front office interns. I would have preferred some technical training in relevant development languages and tools, or company's development process and documentation writing.
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
Great start for the career, always possible to get a job in a different division / location as preffered.
The Culture
Not much time for out-of-office socialising!
London, get prepared for expensive pints, but the location is awesome!
Central London very close for clubs, a lot of pubs close to work.
There is always a possibility to get involved in activities colleagues take part in.
