The Role
The internship exceeded my expectations by far. Everyone had time for me, even the partners and directors, and were very helpful. I was given more responsibility than I expected.
I felt like I was really contributing to the client workload and everyone was patient and understanding.
I was assigned to a counsellor and a buddy, both of which were available to help me at all times with any issues I had. They often contacted me to ask how I was getting on and arranged regular meetings to check on my progress.
There was never a time when I had no work to do. Some days in the office were quite slow but this gave me a chance to work on my project. At client sites I always had a large workload but I was never rushed to complete this, I was able to take my time to understand it.
I was given as much responsibility as people on the graduate scheme and I was able to take ownership of my own work and complete a wide range of tasks. I was also given responsibility to speak to clients on my own which I really enjoyed.
I greatly improved my computer skills and also gained more confidence and time management.
The Company
It was a great atmosphere (although I didn't spend much time in the office). Everyone was friendly and chatty but work was never compromised.
The internship was organised really well. However, some things such as partner shadowing fell through because of client commitments etc which was understandable.
Everyone had time for me, giving me tips and advice and showing me how things worked etc.

Very appealing! I hope I get a job offer, I can't wait to go back.
The Culture
I made some great friends on the internship and this included students and colleagues. I will deffinetly keep in touch with people.
I lived at home so was cheap as chips and in terms of socialising it varies depending on where you go. There are both cheap and expensive places all over manchester!
The nightlife in Manchester is great although we onmy went for one real night out in the 6 weeks.
There were quite a few opportunities such as charity treks, quiz nights, netball and cricket etc.
