The Role
Mostly enjoyable
On the whole I think they valued my input/opinion
Had an excellent line manager/supervising analyst
Varied from one desk to another. Summer a traditionally quiet period though
Given tasks similar to that of an analyst - so a fair degree of responsibility
Very thorough training at the beginning of the internship but nothing on fixed income which was frustrating give majority of time spent in DCM
The Company
Sat on the trading floor most of the time so a good lively atmosphere.
On the whole excellent. Only criticism is that there are too many interns for the ECM rotation I am currently on, given how many people are away.
Lots of training/lectures which were both interesting and well delivered.
Sports and Social Club
Healthcare from home
Would very much like to return.
The Culture
Reasonably. Ad hoc drinks more the order of the day given the fluctuating working hours in banking.
City of London is expensive.
Average nightlife in the City but further afield London has a plethora of clubs.
CSR day involved working with children from a disadvataged school - this was very rewarding.
