The Role
Overall ProspectSoft offered a brilliant placement, it was extremely varied and flexible; plus the whole team were great to work with.
There was a fantastic atmosphere at ProspectSoft and it was obvious how much they appreciated the work I did.
There was never a stupid question and whenever I needed help or advice there was always someone to ask.
I was kept really busy on a daily basis with a variety of different tasks which kept my placement interesting and useful.
Due to reshuffles whilst on placement I took on a lot of responsibility which was a great learning curve - there was still assistance from other parts of the team when needed though.
Having a proper idea of what the business world is actually like should help my understanding of different modules and also help when working out how the theory all fits in.
The Company
The general atmosphere at ProspectSoft is fantastic. It's a really young company and there's always something going on.
The placement was extremely well organised from start to finish. With great training to get us going and on-going development processes to aid us in our day-to-day jobs.
All the placements got a lot of training when we first started to get us up to speed. There was also the opportunity to take part in additional training to improve our performance and ability.
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
Around 70% of the company are returning placements so ProspectSoft do hire placements with a high chance of getting a job at the end.
The Culture
There are loads of company events throughout the year and people are always up for going out or a few drinks at the pub after work.
I lived in Oxford (about 25 minutes from the office), it's not the cheapest place but if you know where to go and what to look for it's no more expensive than any other student city.
Stokenchurch is quite a small place however a lot of the company live around Oxford so most nights out where there which was great.
There was always something going on, there was weekly football and we went on loads of different trips: paintballing, cinema, nights out etc
