The Role
Professionally it was great, lots of responsibilities, really interesting and varied work. I didn't only stay in the office too I was sent around the country on the field. Team spirit could have been better, team social events were very rare and so are smiley faces and friendly conversations.
I had work on it and prove myself, but they were very supportive and took me seriously as an equal
I had no training and I had to learn most things by myself which was frustrating at times. But management are also open to questions and give you support if you ask for it.
It depends some days/weeks/months you are snowed under work and other days lots of facebook. It's up to you if you want to work hard and get involved so al in all good balance.
I gradually got more and more responsibility as the year went on so i wasn't thrown straight into the deep end. But i ended up by being responsibible for a consequant part of the business and a key member of my team.
The experience this placement brought me is priceless, I have learned and changed a lot faced with the realities of corporate life. I feel more motivated about going back to uni and feel better prepared for future interviews and jobs.
The Company
The ocassional joke but most of the time its very quiet and pretty dull.
When I arrived they didn't have anything really organised but now I know that there is a solid scheme in place.
i had no training but I could have gone to a few courses if I wanted to nothing really worth while though
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Its definitly a good company, I would consider going back but Id also like to experience something different.
The Culture
There were other students but they worked in different divisions so i never saw them.
My salary did not cover my living costs in London.
Well croydon is pretty dull, London though well... some say its the best in the world.
Charities mainly.
