The Role
Brilliant people, challenging work and a lot of fun!
My work was appreciated and got a lot of useful feedback.
I was left on my own most of the time, but when I needed, I could get help.
I was fairly busy on a daily.
I played a large role in shaping the whole project.
I learned a lot of new technical things that might be useful as well as improved many of my skills (both technical and soft) that will assist me in my degree studies and beyond.
The Company
Friendly people, some informal events from time to time (with food and drinks!)...
The first week was a bit confusing (we got a full day training one week after which cleared up most of my confusion).
The full day training was quite good even though I did not learn anything directly useful to my project.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
I'll definitely consider ARM for a fulltime position after I graduate.
The Culture
Several trips, pub nights, movie nights, and the great almighty summer BBQ with dodgems, a bouncing castle, a large slide and so on.
It depends, but Cambridge is sometimes almost as expensive as London in some aspects.
Quite good even though the city got a bit colder without Cambridge Uni students, most of whom left after exams in June.
Usually during weekends.
