The Role
I got a real insight into a marketing function and what a job in this area would be like
I was given real projects that were adding value to the organisation
I was given as much support as I required as well as the freedom to use my initiative and work on my own without too much supervision
I always had a project to work on and could just ask my placement manager for more
I was given a number of significant projects that would have been done by a full time memeber of the marketing team if I hadnt done it
It allowed me to see the real value of my degree in respect to applying the theory and also helped develop my business skills
The Company
It was professional with a friendly atmosphere
It was well organised but could vary depending on your placement manager
They provide a placement manager who helped train me up on the areas I needed trained up on during my first week or two so that I could start doing real work as soon as possible
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Healthcare from home
Really good graduate scheme and rewarding company to work for
The Culture
Yes everyone was very nice and there was always something social happening each week
It is edinburgh which is more expensive that some places but not unreasonable
The nightlife is good lots of bars
Yes there are a number of clubs and activities organised within employees of standard life
