The Role
A very good placement, have had placemtns in the past where i have worked outside my field of studies, however BAE SS allowed me to pursue work that is of interest by me.
Felt comfortable chatting to everyone in and outside the office. Staff were very helpfull when asked questions.
Good at the explanation of ho BAE SS works, and it was extremely helpfull to get a tour around the facility to get a better understanding of how the company works outside of the department i was working in.
Lack of work on some days, however it is to be expexted in some weeks due to the short time in the department. However I would of liked more work to do.
A reasonable of amount of responsibility was given to me, enough to feel that the work i was doing would be usfull and hence require great care in the design.
Good skills, personally I did not learn a great deal, however it was great working with systems which I would possibly work with in the future.
The Company
Good atmosphere, and good balance of working and social.
Organisation was good in respect to being given goals to complete before the end of the placement. This gave a good outlook on what I would be doing, and allowed me to be flexible with the time given without waiting around for projects to be given. However better organisation could of been given to the induction
There was a lack of training and courses, however having only a 3 month placement limits what can be done with the training.
A great overall job. This will defenatly be one of the options for a future job.
The Culture
Very good social life, however living an hour away limits my potential on going out!
Cant really comment, about an average night out in a town!
N/A
Good opportunities to go out, such as paintballing and other activities
