The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed the placement this year.
I worked in a very enjoyable team. We went for drinks regularly and there was a real team atmosphere with everyone chipping in.
I had regular one to ones with both a graduate (weekly) and my line manager (three times over seven weeks). In addition any questions that I had were welcomed.
Extremely busy, yet not too pressured. There was as much work as I wanted and the harder I wanted to work the more I could achieve.
I was given ownership of a project and was tasked with jobs that could not afford to not be completed. I therefore felt very responsible and valuable.
The skills are not too relevant to my degree, but have been exteremly useful for future managerial roles.
The Company
The atmosphere was brilliant. The atmosphere felt as loud and bubbly as it could be bearing in mind the seriousness of the work we were undertaking. It also helped that there were so many graduates and interns in the same office.
For the second year running, the IT has let me down, restricting what I am able to do and eating up much of the first week.
During one to ones we discussed areas that I wished to work on, and opportunities were provided to work on what I percieved as weaknesses.
National Travel
I would love to work for the company in future.
The Culture
The majority of people in the office seemed to have come through graduate schemes, and the team made sure I felt included. There were multiple interns in the same office that helped/
Manchester turned out to be much more expensive than I realised.
I wasn't in the city during any of the weekends as I was away seeing friends and family around the country.
