The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed the experience - it was far more than I expected. The perfect mix of challenging responsibility alongside the development of skills.
I was given the right amount of work to do and quickly placed on projects which allowed me to feel like an integral part of our team.
Steve and other seniors in my team offered fantastic support - always happy to help and explain a problem or query.
I had work to do every day - occasionally projects could have been staggered slightly better, but an organized system for prioritising work easily saw to this.
I was given enough responsibility to feel like a key part of my team, but never too much as to feel completely out of my depth.
I feel I developed as many skills as I could have hoped for, both on a theoretical level within the industry and on a practical level regarding client communication.
The Company
Everyone in the office was friendly and helpful, and made me feel extremely welcome.
Work was in place for me to take on and all official days (induction, presentation etc) were clearly communicated to us.
I was given ample support and attention from all levels of the organization.
Very appealing - I have not yet found out if I will receive a job offer, so cannot accurately rate this section.
The Culture
I was in one of our smaller offices in terms of the number of interns (four of us) but we quickly bonded and take lunch together most days, including a trip out of the office on Fridays.
Surrey is an expensive area, but I don't feel this reflects on the palcement. The canteen on site was reasonably placed.
Farnborough is not widely known for its nightlife. I live closer to London, so this is not a problem for me.
Opportunities were regularly offered, and events such as a 'Go Ape' team-building day were organized.
