The Role
Really enjoyed the office atmosphere and being part of the team. Would have been more fun if I had had more work to do i think.
some colleagues more than others. The people who I did most work for seemed to value my presence but i couldnt say how others felt about my value in the team.
Any query I had was responded to in good time. nothing was dismissed without thought
definitely could have had more work given to me. I felt like there was work that could have been passed to me but it was easier for the person to just do it themsleves so they didnt pass it on.
My main responsibility came in the CSR project. being part of a team, organising office-wide events, dealing with people all over the country in office and those connected with the charity.
invaluable communacation skills, as well as technical skills to take on to other internship programmes.
The Company
people obviously had work to do, but there was the occasional banter in the office. After work social events were always fun and wll attended
admissions process was excellent. IT set up wasnt great, took ages to be fully functional. The merger didnt help, divide between hewitt and aon systems is still very obvious and was a hinderence when trying to do work for various people
Taught me technical skills and techniques so that when a particular job needed doing more than once I could be called upon to do it again without the training. Benefited the company as time went on because i became much more productive.
Company Parties/Events
Im keen to go into the financial sector and Aon would be a great place to work. A career as an actuary seems very apealing - good work/life balance
The Culture
All seem like good people, almost always have lunch together with the guys in my building. Socialise with them at the office drinks, or at the 5 a side
Its London. Its expensive. train fares put a serious dent in my pay. i might suggest some sort of allowance for travel expenses.
Didnt really experience it during the placement. There were a few good bars we went to for results celebrations and stuff like that
some spontaneous 5 a side football but that was about it. Gym downstairs which i think some people used but i didnt
