The Role
amazing experience, got to do things I never even hoped to do. saw, worked on and tested prototype vehicles and engines
I was a valuable member of the team, my work also made its way around the company for critical decisions
not a whole lot of support, pretty much left to work things out on my own - perhaps too much responsibility at times
very busy but I got to manage my own time so I could plan my day every morning
lots, I got to spend quite a large fraction of budget, worked on prototypes and got to make some pretty important decisions
definitely make an impact on my CV and chances of getting another job in the future. it has also taught me more than I could have even imagined under different aspects
The Company
very relaxed environment, people are always up for a good laugh. good balance between humour and serious work
well organized but some things still required a lot of self-management
fair amount of training but not too much since I'm only an undergraduate. A bit disappointing at times not to be able to participate in some meetings or training events that interested me
very appealing. the company is in a period of growth and lots of new and exciting programmes are coming out. We are receiving a lot of funding from external companies and budget isn't a problem
The Culture
yeah, there were some opportunities but they could have been improved. Things get better for graduates, undergraduates are left on their own a little bit more
I was very happy with the town I was in, lots to do and a very nice place in general. I was near a university as well so loads of students to meet and hang out with
surprisingly good! it's never a problem to find a good place to go for a meal, play some pool, or go clubbing
yes, but I never paid too much interest. The company also offers a yearly sum of money for employees to use towards any non-work related activity - again just for graduates
