The Role
My team were very welcoming.
Time was put aside to help train me on the tasks i needed to complete and answer any questions i had.
Not very busy most of the time. There is always work to do, day to day task and project work but i was able to work through them at a comfortable pace.
Not alot of responsibility at the start. However after training i was able to take on more responsibility and complete line work similar to my colleagues.
The Company
I thought the programme was very well organised. Every week there was an educational session, where we got to learn about the many different areas of Operations. So we were able to get a good overview of how the bank works and can decide which areas of Operations would appeal to us more.
Most traning was done on the job at my desk by my manager and other colleagues. But in terms of the seminars including a motivational speaker UBS does try and make sure you learn alot in a short space of time.
Company Parties/Events
Healthcare/Dental
Given that they offer a place on the grad programme prospects look promising.
The Culture
Occasionally the interns will arrange nights out amongst ourselves.
Housing is very expensive in london. Although i commuted from home to save money on rent weekly/monthly travel cost was expensive. Food and drink around the area was expensive too.
There are alot of options of places to go out, many within walking distance of the office.
There are a few oppourtunities to do volunteering. This year we got involved in a sports day for kids from the local schools.
