The Role
I did enjoy aspects of it but at times felt that my efforts were rather inconsequential in such a large organisation.
My colleagues were very nice and included me in some social events. They were willing to help whenever I needed any advice/ further assistance.
My supervisor was very supportive; however, I felt that she sometimes didn't have any tasks to give me.
It varied and depended on how much the senior staff had to do. Often if they were very busy, they would delegate more tasks to me so I could help ease their workload.
I was given a good level of responsibility and was allowed to work on projects which required using my inititative a lot of the time.
Not really much to be honest. Working in an office environment is always good experience but I have decided that I wouldn't want to work in such a large organisation because I feel I would make very little impact.
The Company
It was a pleasant working experience; everyone was friendly, thoughtful and willing to help.
To be honest, it could have been better structured - the project work was insufficient to keep me occupied for the full 3 months and often I was left with not much to do.
Not much - I was not offered any personal training although I did attend some Cancer Research events which was interesting and fun.
Company Parties/Events
Although they were very friendly, I don't feel there would be much scope for progressing within your career.
The Culture
It was OK - we would often go to the pub for a drink but nothing overly exciting.
I lived at home outside London and commuted in but socialising was expensive in the area.
Good but I didn't get much of a chance to experience the nightlife because I have to commute which was unfortunate.
There were interesting events to attend that Cancer Research held and I took part in some fundraising and volunteering events.
