The Role
the overall experience was fantastic. enjoyed every moment of it
My colleagues were very nice and valued my opinion and appreciated the different approach i took when it came to certain tasks
My desk is a very fast paced desk so guidaince by management or superviour was not as much compared to other desks but this helped me in a way as i felt i had to prove myself
as the desk is very busy and i had my project, presentation and dialy tasks to do i was quite busy most of the days
I was given quite a lot of responsibilty as i was put in charge of projects and things that not only affects my desk but other desk which also goes up to senior management
I picked up and developed very vital excel skills, leadership skills and a lot about the financial markets that would make a better student in my final year at uni
The Company
people here are very relaxed and very welcoming and also know how to let down their hair when the time comes
I think the internship was well organised as i had my email etc all set up for me to arrive and regular meetings etc was carried out to access progress etc
i think the cmpany tries to push you to do your best especially being in a very competitive market - however the culture is more relaxed here not like more cut-throat investment banks
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
I would defintely take up a graduate job if given the opportunity
The Culture
Interns and colleagues were always organising things to do together for lunch, after work and sometimes on the weekend which really helps to know each other more. The olympics also gave us lots to talka bout
Everything in the city is very very expensive but we manage and get by. the trick is knowing where the deals are and knocking where and with who to go with.
the only nioghtlife i experienced was leaving work late with colleagues. beside that we played golf outside London till midnight
There was always somthing going on - interbank football, golf, go-karting, endless drinks and cinema outing, brunch with mentors and mentees in oxford circus on the weekend
