The Role
Could have done with more work to keep me occupied.
Given a fair amount of responsibility through the CSR project, but also in daily office life. Found it really useful to have slightly more independence as it enabled me to see more of how the company functions and the relationship with clients as well.
It was useful to further develop my teamwork, communication and organisation skills in both the CSR project and in the work I was given in my office.
The Company
Everyone is really friendly, helpful and approachable. Many office social events that we were also invited, helped the interns to feel part of the office. Furthermore, the inclusion by the other members of the office in things like team lunches etc, definitely made the office a fun place to be.
Seemed, unfortunately, rather poorly organised - it appeared that people hardly knew we were coming and there was not always enough work to keep us going.
They provided basic training on things that were required for daily work, and colleagues were helpful in explaining work to be done.
Very appealing - the work is varied, interesting and manageable, and the people in the office are fun to work with as well as being helpful. The 'work hard, play hard' ethic seems to be present in this office, without stretching to either extreme.
The Culture
As the local area is not particularly bustling or known for socialising activities/nightlife, and with only a few interns in this office, it was hard to form an outside-work socialising situation with other interns. But inclusion in office socials was welcomed.
No nightlife, a very sleepy town.
Hardly anything. Some members got involved in football but it seems that's the only thing to get involved in. Unfortunately that did not appeal to me so I feel there are some missed opportunities for inclusion here.
