The Role
I really enjoyed getting hands on experiance on site, as well as learning to work with a team. The team was great fun and vrey helpful, everyone in the office was willing to answer all my questions.
Obviously there is a lot I did not know compared with most of the people working there. However, they were not patronising, but supportive and listened to my opinions.
Myline manager was very helpful. He was very good as listening to what i thought i needed experiance on, and helped me to get this.
Sometimes I felt that I could have been worked harder. But this is a difficult balance I suppose between enjoying your internship and getting worked off your feet.
Within reason I was given tasks and left to run with them. All my uncertainties and questions however always drew me back to needing help and guidance.
It gae me hands on experiance which is vital in an engineering degree
The Company
The average age was only about 30, so I had lots to talk about with everyone.
BP have a very good structure of planning and assessment of goals.
I think they really cared and want you to improve for the good of you and the company.
Flexi Time
National Travel
They have a great structure for undergrads and grads to develope. The pay is good and opportunities are very good.
The Culture
There was only one other intern in my office, so this wasn't very good.
I rented a flat which was pretty expensive for the summer, and was a little way away from everyone else at work.
I went to the the local quay and pubs in the evening which was pleasant, but nothing to write home about.
Not that I could see
