    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Accountancy requires a very specific type of person - it was enjoyable most of the time, but there are quite a few moments when you question whether you can really do this on a daily basis!

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • They were extremely welcoming, treated us like one of the team and friends straight away. Really great - best thing about the firm.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Whenever it was required, and had regular counselling sessions with your career advisor.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Busy most of the time, and it was low season. Got posted out to client sites every week after the initial training, and downtime was filled with a presentation to the partners delivered in the last week.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • They chuck you in at the deep end. As long as you prove competent there is little work you'll be doing that an Associate wouldn't.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The main thing to take away is operating in a professional environment and office - along with that is just an actual understanding about how companies work, especially their accounts!

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • There was always something going on - in the first week we had the office summer ball, which was a great black-tie event!

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The internship team were great at making sure there was work to do, but also that there was a nice social environment for the interns as well. The start and finishing events were also amazing!

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • They were keen to get me up to speed so that I could function as a team member. they were also willing to put the time in to make sure that I wanted to come back and work for the firm, which is always a nice feeling - to know you're wanted.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Sports and Social Club

    National Travel

    Company Parties/Events

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Got the Job and have accepted the offer.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes. We were always hanging out after work and going on our own social events, there was a really good team spirit and definitely made some lasting friends.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Anywhere out of London is great!

    5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Nottingham has world class night life - just ask any student who goes there.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • All the time - I even got asked to come play for the netball team, despite never having played before. There were loads of activities to get involved with.

    5/5
