The Role
Everyone was willing to put the time in to help me in understanding the work set and I was set a variety of work ensuring that I got a taste of a larger area of the companies work.
Was welcomed in to every team I worked in and the work I did was actually important as opposed to just photocopying items.
Always available to answer questions and took time to explain further when clarification was requried. Was regularly shown an example/layout to get me started.
Varied on a day to day basis. Sometimes I was given lots of work to do which kept me busy but had occasions when there wasn't any work that I was able to do. However these were infrequent.
I was given tasks to do myself but due to the nature of the work it meant that a lot of guidance was required and work was regularly checked/changed.
The skills learned will be of great benefit in giving me a head start when I hopefully join the company next year.
The Company
Everyone was friendly and kept the atmosphere up even when the work wasn't that interesting.
Has been done before so people have already experienced having students onboard meaning that the work was pitched at an appropriate level.
Spent the first week training and giving us the basic knowledge required to go into the department and found that very useful.
We are given a final interview at the end of the placement with feedback from the placement given to the partner and that decides whether or not we get the job.
The Culture
Everyone was welcoming and as we were all in the same boat, got on really well.
It was in a city so not that cheap but not extortionate.
Middle of a city so very good.
We were quickly attached to emails and invited to events after work.
