The Role
As it was a local office, a lot of the time it felt like they didn't have work to give, or simply gave photocopying and filing jobs (part of the internship process I guess). However, the work being done my people who were permanent looked very interesting.
Very friendly, but simply didn't have much work for me at some points.
Answered whatever I asked about.
Varied day to day.
The highlight would be when I was given the opportunity to talk to the client directly, but those opportunities were few and far between.
Not helpful for degree, but definitely a good insight into the financial world.
The Company
Busy and lively. Very friendly.
Days where there wasn't much to do, should be prepared to give interns work. Also, I never got a partner shadow day.
Feedback is available, but depends on who you're working for. Some people are too busy to give feedback quickly.
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
Yet to hear back, and it's nearly been 2 weeks since I finished.
The Culture
Went out on department socials, and also went out with other interns.
Not as expensive as London!
Lots of options, from bars to clubs.
After work socials, and there were opportunities to join things like netball etc if you wanted to
