The Role
It was a very enjoyable internship with great people and mostly very good organisation of the scheme.
This of course differs by person, but generally Interns are very value at EY, saying they valued me 'like family' is pushing it a little though - which is understandable for any 5-week internship I think.
The support scheme is great. I got a buddy for more informal questions, a counsellor who formally reviewed my work, and could easily get in touch with the managers of the respective projects.
For me, this differed by the two projects I was placed on. On one of them, I had the perfect workload (I was busy 9 to 5 with interesting work to do), on the other one I had less to do, but asked elsewhere for things to do.
Again, this differed by project. On the first I had a decent amount of responsibility - it met my expectations for an internship. On the second I was involved in more simple tasks, so had less responsibility.
Especially my Excel skills and networking skills are very valuable for my degree studies and even beyond.
The Company
Great atmosphere! I was mostly based on client site, and also there we always had a highly enjoyable atmosphere. It really makes working quite fun.
Overall the internship was very well organised, with loads of support and various social events for all interns. It would've just been good to only be placed on projects for which there is a lot to do for the interns.
In a 5 week internship there is only a limited amount a company can do, but if one joins EY on a longer term basis, their personal development opportunities are very good.
Company Parties/Events
Last year 90% of interns were offered a job.
The Culture
The social side to the internship was fantastic. We had a lot of events organised by EY, but some people also took initiative to organise other events. There were always 2-3 events going on per week. The people were also all really nice and I made a lot of new friends.

We had an extra-curricular fair where we were showed what activities are on offer if one joins the firm (e.g. sports and networks). EY also has very good volunteering support and we had a CSR-day where we worked in an ecological village and built fences / cleaned lakes / etc.
