The Role
Was a struggle at the start as is very fast paced and had to learn alot straight away but once got hang was very enjoyable.
Everyone made me feel welcome from start, thought it may of been hard seeing as was only going to be there for 10 weeks but everyone was friendly and allowed me to relax straight in.
Even though it was very busy at times, the manage and assistant manager always helped when I asked for some guidance and made sure things were explained well to me. If I asked for any help I always received it.
It would be very busy at certain times in the day, but once I was more settled in the role and understood what to do I had more things I could do during quiet periods.
I was giving alot of responsibility in terms of dealing with customers, checking around the vechile and being responsibile for check for damage etc. I never expected to gain alot of responsibility so was nice to feel as it I wasn't just an intern for short period as could do just as much as others did.
Working in an environment that I could do once graduated has been vital in showing me which skills I may lack and which I know im strong in, helping me to focus on them to ensure I will continue to grow them in hope of securing a graduate job.
The Company
Sometimes ofcourse it was very busy and people had alot to do, but there was always some fun going on which I think made branch work well together as everyone gets on well but still has a professional relationship.
Was very well organised in terms of I had clear set of goals to achieve. I knew my hours and it all had a very clear structure.
We had our inital training day before the placement began. But as it was only 10 weeks, it was more about getting foot in door and having the experience.
Financial Bonus
I am hoping to have some opportunity with the company. I have already been made aware that there are a few opportunity available to me, which is brilliant as it allows to be abit more motivated as working hard could gain you that career.
The Culture
All the interns are very spaced out over the north, so the only real time we saw each other was at training day and celebration lunch.
I lived were my intern was so I had no extra living costs added by this intern. Enterpirse was good in allowing me to have an intern were I live so costs were nothing new to me.
My intern was in Harrogate which is a rather quite town in terms of night life, but with leeds and york close by there is plenty of choices.
Everyone works hard at the branch and as I was only there for 10 weeks it was a very short period of time to get involved. If the placement was longer im sure there would of been opportunity to do so,
