The Role
It was really enjoyable, people in the office were really friendly and there was a good group of interns too.
The work I completed was valuable to the team and helped out team members by completing many of the tasks that needed doing.
Everybody was really helpful, any questions were answered well and everything was explained well to begin with
Was given a good amount of work, there were quieter times to begin with but as my competence increased I was given more and more work.
As the intership progressed I was given more and more responsibility in producing deliverable material
The skills I developed here will allow me to excel in my final year of studies and also prepare me well for my future career
The Company
Good atmosphere, nice people in the office, everyone was really nice.
The whole scheme is organised really well across Aon. Then when in the office it is organised well that you have a buddy and supervisor all sorted out and you know who to ask for stuff.
The training on the job was good with lots of relevant sessions with graduates and other interns. We also had to complete a CSR project as part of a team and this helped develop me personally.
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
Unsure whether I have a job or not but will know in 5 days time. I think the conversion rate last year was around 50% but higher in Investment Consulting.
The Culture
We had to organise stuff ourselves, which was easy to do but not in large groups, just 4 or 5. Would be nice if Aon organised socials for the interns over the placement. There were a few drinks evenings with colleagues too.
Fairly pricey but standard for london. There were definitely cheaper bars with 2-for-1 offers and happy hours.
Nightlife was good, plenty of bars to choose from
There were sports teams like football and cricket that a few interns played on.
