The Role
It was hard work and not every day was as rewarding as other jobs might have been. But when I look back at the people I met, the skills I learnt and the responsibility I was given, it was an opportunity like no other before.
The friendly atmosphere was one of the highlights of the job, it made me really enjoy it!
I was given enough supprot and guidance to get me going, and they were always helpful when I asked questions. But they were also keen for me to find things out by myself and not be spoonfed!
There was no average day, so some days were certainly busier than others. Overall all though it averaged out if you were on top of you time management!
This was something I was suprised about, they gave me real responsibilty from day one and slowly built up what I was doing and so I could see how what I was doing was actually important in the greater scheme of things for the Citi.
Definately the top thing I will take away are the communication, presentation and technical skills that I learnt. They were really keen to make sure we learnt a wide range of specific and useful skills.
The Company
Hard working, but always some friendly chat. People who were much mroe experienced and older than me were always willing to spend some time helpding me out.
The stuff they organised for us, given that we were jsut interns was amazing. Everything ran smoothly and we got to here from so many interesting people at ALL levels fo the company and beyond.
THey gave us a few days of preliminary trainging, and the rest was largely picked up as I went along.
Company Parties/Events
Unlikely as I don't have a masters degree, and that is semi-required for the area I was working in (though definately not for most of the other bits)
The Culture
There was always something going on for what ever you felt like doing.
Expensive but worth it!
It was London, what can I say...!
Apart from what we organised for ourselves, we coudl do one day volunteering out of 10 weeks!
