The Role
Enjoyable internship although the work can be basic to the point of boring at times. Lots of excel and report writing as well as chasing up different fund mangers for data etc
More than happy to trust you with a failry high volum of work from early in the internship. The complexity of the stuff they give you increases as you gain more experience.
If you couldn't do anything all you had to do was ask and everybody was more than happy to help
Quantities of work varied a lot, you could either be very busy or very bored so hard to say how this one measures up. You could always ask for more work if you wanted to though
A reasonably high degree of responsibility producing important reports etc. These were always checked by a number of people in different positions of seniority (standard practice) so you were allowed to work on most things...
Was quite useful for uprading your skillz
The Company
Really good office atmosphere, always really chilled out and people tended to mess about a bit
Very well organised
Invested fairly heavily. We were invited to every graduate training session on a number of different things eg. training sessions on derivatives, cognity, different styles of asset management etc
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Awaiting final review and job offer or not. Could potentially see myself here full time
The Culture
Plenty of chilled out drinks with colleagues but not enough on the nights out front for my liking. Good fun nonetheless
Right by Liverpool St so not the cheapest place in the world but given the variety of things around you can get by reasonably well on a low budget. Alternatively, if you don't like money there are plenty of places to spend all of it
Its there if you want it
Some opportunities like cricket vs different fund managers, 5 aside football etc
