The Role
It was differnet to what i thought it would be, i thought there would me alot more work on the line instead of at the computer most of the time.
i got on with most of the people there
i was abit all over the place working in different areas so i didnt really know who i was supposed to be working for.
i wasnt too busy at the start and struggled to find work but it picked up towards the end of the placement.
the reports i issued were used throughout the plant including project work on majoy introductions in the plant such as vision systems costing thousands of pounds.
i though that the training i have recieved was very useful, especially computer skills which will be vital in passing uni, plus the year in industry to see what it is like will advance my knowledge of processes and procedures.
The Company
always a laugh but always while working.
from not knowing who i worked for and having 3 different managers i think the organising of the students was not as well as it could have been.
as the year went on i gained more responsibilities and was also trained by various people on various programmes for projects.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
i wouldnt go back after seeing what it was like, i want something more active.
The Culture
all the students here were friendly and always went out after work hours to socialise.
i lived at home so they were jsut the usual prices from trains and petrol.
i didnt experience the nightlife in darington, i lived further away
not unless we organised them
